On Saturday, February 9th, Chippewa Watershed Conservancy (CWC) board member and Isabella Conservation District educational coordinator, Mike LeValley led a small group on an exploration of CWC’s Halls Lake Natural Area to search for signs of winter wildlife activity. After a few inches of snow fell a day prior to the event, we were able to identify tracks from river otter, bobcat, squirrel, deer, weasel, coyote and participants even saw a porcupine nestled in a tree.
