Vernal Pool Exploration @ Hall’s Lake Natural Area

April 23 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join us on Wednesday, April 23rd, as we explore the fascinating world of vernal pools. Vernal pools are seasonal wetlands that typically fill with snow melt and spring rains but dry out during the summer months. Because of the seasonal nature of these pools, fish are unable to survive in them. That makes them the preferred habitat for the reproduction of amphibians such as wood frogs, spotted salamanders, and blue-spotted salamanders.
Be sure to wear rubber boots so you can better explore the pools! Boot disinfection station will be provided.
