Invasive Species Removal Work Session @ Williams-Blackburn Preserve
May 19, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Join us at 5:30 PM every Thursday evening in May at Williams-Blackburn Preserve for our weekly invasive species work sessions.
The main focus of these sessions will be the removal of autumn olive (an invasive shrub) with a secondary focus on non-native honeysuckles and Japanese barberry.
These three introduced shrubs spread prolifically and crowd out native vegetation. Removal of these plants will hopefully lead to increased diversity of native species. In addition, removal of the densest stands of autumn olive will open up the understory and allow for the possible future trail construction.
We provide all necessary equipment – all you have to do is show up ready to work.
